This 1 hour class is taught by the authors of the popular baby sleep book, The Happy Sleeper, The Science-Backed Guide to Helping Your Baby Get a Good Night’s Sleep (Penguin Random House, 2014). The class is a video version of the in-person workshop given by Julie Wright and Heather Turgeon around the Los Angeles area and beyond. In this class, Wright and Turgeon review the top sleep "mistakes," talk about The Sleep Wave technique, and troubleshoot sleep questions. The Happy Sleeper teaches a middle-ground approach to sleep that is gentle AND effective. With this technique, babies feel safe and responded to, while also having space to practice their self-soothing skills and sleep through the night. This class will walk you through,
- Bedtime routines and falling asleep independently
- Night wakings
- Maintaining breastfeeding and good sleep
- Short naps, irregular schedules
- Early rising
The strategies in this class are recommended for babies 5 months and older and in some cases can be applied for babies 4-5 months. Many parents with younger babies (and even expecting parents) like to watch and learn what's coming next!
